About Us

South Central Ohio Public Health Preparedness is a group of individuals who work in public health and have come together to work on public health projects around the South Central region of Ohio. These individuals include nurses, sanitarians, emergency response coordinators, and epidemiologists from local health departments. By covering different areas of expertise, it allows our group to have insight to issues in our region from different points of view. In turn, this allows for an all round approach to tackling public health concerns within our communities.

This group is comprised of individuals from ten different counties in Ohio. These counties include Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Lawrence, Meigs, Jackson, Pike, Ross, Scioto, and Vinton. Our hopes are to better the health of the public through education, prevention, and interventions. Project ideas and intervention measures are brought up during our quarterly meetings. It is at these meetings where we discuss what we can do in our region and how our projects are going.
